Terms of Use
Last updated: 3 November 2026
In short: you need to be at least 13, be nice to others, don't break the law and don't attack our servers. OpenKogama is free and run by volunteers, so it comes without guarantees.
1. What OpenKogama is
OpenKogama is a free, open-source, fan-made revival of classic KoGaMa. It includes the launcher, the server that anyone can host, this website and the archive of maps, models and avatars. It is run by volunteers, not by a company. OpenKogama is not affiliated with or endorsed by Multiverse ApS, the company behind KoGaMa.
In these terms, "we" means the OpenKogama team. You can write to us at contact@openkogama.org in English or Polish. By using OpenKogama, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they should read these terms with you.
3. Your account
- Choose a name that is not offensive and does not pretend to be someone else. We can change or remove names that break this rule.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Don't sell, trade or share accounts.
- You can delete your account at any time on your account page.
4. Rules
On our servers, on the public server list and in anything you share with us, don't:
- break the law or share anything illegal;
- share sexual content involving minors (we report it to the police);
- bully, threaten or harass anyone, or spread hate;
- share other people's private information;
- cheat, hack or attack servers, accounts or our services;
- spam, scam or spread malware;
- pretend to be the OpenKogama team or someone else;
- share things you don't have the right to share, other than classic KoGaMa maps shared with the archive (see section 6).
5. Community servers
Anyone can host an OpenKogama server. Servers are run by their owners, not by us, and each server can have its own rules. Owners are responsible for their servers, for what happens on them and for the data they keep, and they must follow the law, including data protection law. We are not responsible for servers we don't run. Servers we run ourselves, like war4, follow these terms.
The public server list
Servers in the Public tab of the launcher must follow these rules:
- No sexual content, hate, harassment, self-harm or graphic violence in the title or thumbnail.
- No servers made to break the rules in section 4, like scams or stealing accounts.
- No faking player numbers and no flooding the list.
Titles and thumbnails are checked automatically with a word list and the OpenAI moderation service. A title or thumbnail that gets flagged is hidden on the list. We can also remove a server from the list when it breaks these rules.
6. What you share
You can share maps from classic KoGaMa with the archive, including ones made by other players. We check every map before we add it. If you share a map you made, you keep your rights to it, and you give OpenKogama a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, copy, show and share it as part of the archive and our services.
The archive keeps maps, models and avatars that KoGaMa players made before KoGaMa closed, including maps that others shared with us. If you made one of them and want it removed, email us. Some models and avatars are marked as mature. They stay hidden unless you confirm that you are 18 or older.
You can publish plugins for OpenKogama servers. Publish only plugins you made or have the right to share, and only files that do what your description says. A plugin must not harm the servers it is installed on, their players or their data, and must not collect data without a clear notice in its description. We review every plugin and every new version before it becomes public and we scan the files with VirusTotal, but we cannot check everything a plugin does: server owners install plugins at their own risk. You keep your rights to your plugin and give OpenKogama a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, show and distribute it on openkogama.org. We may hide or remove a plugin at any time, for example after a report. You can delete your plugin yourself at any time.
7. Reports and moderation
To report illegal content or something that breaks these terms, email contact@openkogama.org. Tell us where it is (a link, a name or an ID) and what is wrong with it. We read every report.
If we remove or hide something of yours or block your account, we tell you why when we have a way to reach you. You can reply and ask us to look at it again, and a person will check it.
8. No guarantees
OpenKogama is free and made by volunteers. It comes as it is: servers can go down, features can change or stop, and worlds or other data can be lost. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for damage caused by using OpenKogama. This does not limit your rights as a consumer or any liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
9. Ending
You can stop using OpenKogama and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or delete an account, or remove content, when it breaks these terms or the law. We can also change or shut down our services.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and announce important changes on the website or on Discord. If you keep using OpenKogama after that, the new terms apply.
11. Law
These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country.
12. Software
The launcher, the server and this website are open source under the MIT License. The license covers using and changing their code, and these terms cover using our services.
Regulamin
Ostatnia zmiana: 3 listopada 2026
1. Czym jest OpenKogama
OpenKogama to darmowy, otwarty, fanowski projekt przywracający klasyczną KoGaMę.
W tym regulaminie „my” to zespół OpenKogama.
4. Zasady
- łamać prawa ani udostępniać niczego nielegalnego;
- udostępniać treści seksualnych z udziałem nieletnich (zgłaszamy to policji);
- nękać, grozić, obrażać ani szerzyć nienawiści;
- udostępniać cudzych prywatnych danych;
- oszukiwać, włamywać się ani atakować serwerów, kont i naszych usług;
- spamować, wyłudzać ani rozsyłać złośliwego oprogramowania;
- podszywać się pod zespół OpenKogama ani pod innych;
Możesz publikować pluginy do serwerów OpenKogama.
7. Zgłoszenia i moderacja
Możesz odpisać i poprosić o ponowne sprawdzenie, a sprawdzi to człowiek.
8. Bez gwarancji
9. Zakończenie
Możesz w każdej chwili przestać korzystać z OpenKogama i usunąć konto. Możemy zawiesić albo usunąć konto lub usunąć treści, które łamią ten regulamin albo prawo. Możemy też zmienić albo wyłączyć nasze usługi.
10. Zmiany regulaminu
Regulamin może się zmienić. Nową wersję opublikujemy tutaj z nową datą, a o ważnych zmianach napiszemy na stronie albo na Discordzie. Jeśli po zmianie dalej korzystasz z OpenKogama, obowiązuje nowa wersja.
11. Prawo
Regulamin podlega prawu polskiemu. Jeśli jesteś konsumentem z innego kraju, zachowujesz ochronę, którą dają ci bezwzględnie obowiązujące przepisy tego kraju.
12. Oprogramowanie
